Nota *El ingrediente principal de la siguiente
tinta es muy común en España, o incluso otros lugares, pero no es en absoluto común
donde vivo. La tradición de usarlo como tintura para Muebles de madera también es
desconocida aquí. Finalmente di con el ingrediente y este es el proceso que he
utilizado:
*Note *The main
ingredient for this ink may be very common in Spain, or maybe other places, but
it is not common at all in the country I live in. The custom to use it as stain
for wood furniture is not known here either. I finally could get it and this is
the process I used:
Tinta
Nogalina
Basándonos
en los pasos para hacer Tinta orgánica (Tintura), utilizamos Nogalina, la cual
se pudo conseguir ya en hojuelas.
Materiales: Un frasco con un poco de agua. Nogalina y
Goma Arábiga (en este caso la hemos disuelto previamente en agua tibia):
*Walnut Ink
Inspired by the steps to make Lake ink, we used an organic material, which we could get in Flakes: Walnut/Oak.
Materials: A jar
with water, Walnut flakes (also known a Van Dyke Crystals), and Gum Arabic
(which we have previously dissolved in warm water):
En un frasco con un poco de agua (menos de la mitad) y con una cucharita muy pequeña, se puso Nogalina al gusto, conforme queramos más clara u oscura la tinta:
*In a jar with some
water (less than the half of it) and with a very little tablespoon, we added as
much Walnut flakes as we wanted clearer or darker results:
Luego se agregó el
aglutinante, en este caso Goma Arábiga,
además, (le da cuerpo a la tinta):
*Then the
agglutinant was added, in this case Gum Arabic, which also adds fluidity to the
ink:
Luego mezclé y esperé un poquito a que la
mezcla se asentara:
I then moved the
mixture and waited it to settle a little bit:
Ahora ya
tenemos tinta de Nogalina. Esta foto no le hace justicia, pero la tinta deja
una textura sumamente agradable a la vista:
*We now have Walnut ink. This pic does not show it, but this ink gives a very pleasant visual texture:
